Instead of praise... Go Denmark!
"In a new report from the European
Council, Denmark is heavily criticised for [...] having banned
religious slaughter of animals [...]. The authors of the
report refer to a verdict by the European Court of Human Rights from 2000,
stating that ritual slaughter of animals is a religious right.
The ban was
implemented in 2014 by Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries [...] the criticism will not lead to the ban being eased as the motivation for
the ban is animal welfare".
We should count ourselves lucky that stoning or burning books was not upheld as a religious right.
