Os meus 2 cêntimos
- Create an inter-generational accounting system that would make it abundantly clear how much of the cost of present living we are leaving for future generations to pay.
- Educate girls in the EU and abroad, as it has a dramatic bearing on global warming via several causal pathways, besides improving health, and wealth, being a social vaccine against inequality, violence and extremism, and a moral imperative.
- Create a comprehensive policy implementation plan for the objective of reversing global warming, noting which R&I and other actions need to be taken (as already identified and ranked in the Drawdown book); make the respect of the plan as a condition to access EU funds in any of its areas; consider absence of action as environmental dumping and therefore as a measure detrimental to the internal market (or an unfair practice in international trade).
- Lack of personal and shared sense of purpose, difficulty to engage for the common good.
- Lack of social cohesion, including weak links between fellow citizens, countries and generations.
- Unfair social inequalities; lack of solidarity.
- Research and experiment on how to best inform citizens of the impact of their action and inaction, on how to best motivate them to work for the benefit of society (including themselves), and on how to empower them so that we can be more demanding of others (governments, industry) but also of ourselves.
